Sailing Courses in Platja d’Aro

At Set Sail Costa Brava we work with the aim of bringing the exciting world of sailing closer to the greatest number of people, both children and adults. We love this sport as a fun way to enjoy together with our friends and fellow adventurers.

Our sailing courses are the best for initiation in this sport, getting more practice and improving knowledge. As the sailing school of the Club Nàutic de Port d’Aro you will also have the option to go further and continue to be part of a regatta team to start in the world of competition.

With our instructors, you will begin to know the different directions, maneuvers, a lot of specific vocabulary and you will end up sailing hanging from the boat on the trapeze. We will use all the sails: main sail, jib and genaker, making tacks and gybes.

The sailing school has different types of boats in order to achieve the objective of our courses and private lessons: group, double and individual.

We adapt to your level, the limit is up to you!

Preparing the New Sailors … !!! (From 7 years old)

Schedule:

Mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Afternoons from 4.00 to 7.00 p.m.

Course 5 days from Monday to Friday € 190
Compulsory accident insurance € 5

Weekly sailing courses from Monday to Friday both in the morning and in the afternoon in order to learn how to sail with all our boats. The initiation levels will sail with the “Raqueros” always with the support of the instructors on board. Students who acquire enough knowledge to sail alone will use the LASER PICO boats and RS Zest boats.

Navigation in pairs or collectively will be possible with our faster and lighter boats RS Quest and RS Vision.

For adults we recommend the afternoon schedule as sea and wind conditions tend to be a little more demanding.

Afternoon lessons will focus on practicing regatta maneuvers with the aim to introduce students in the competitive sailing world and get to know a bit more about this fascinating sport, nevertheless, all of our courses will offer the basics on sailing and will spend a day on a sailing coast trip near the training area.

The last week of our season, on 25^th August, we will offer a special course in a competitive-like form, which will be called Set Sailboat Challenge, for those who wish to experience being in a true Sailing boat Regatta. This last course, will also be open to anybody who want to participate, such as the rest of our courses, and will consist on putting into practice the acquired knowledge on to the sportive navigation.

All the courses will have same duration and price, and you can do as many as you wish. The instructor will adapt the lesson to your level of knowledge. What’s more, we have a reward for your dedication as you will have a 25% off price for the Set Sailboat Challenge if you participate in two of our weekly programs, and a 50% off if you do so in 3 of our programs.
